Quantum Worlds

Click to view quantum worlds - click to view landscapes

I am fascinated with the intimate world of brushstrokes, paint and canvas. Art books usually enlarge small parts of paintings (called "details") to illuminate these creative gestures of the painter's signature style of laying on paint.

These Quantum Worlds are one-of-a-kind digitally enlarged "details" from my own brushstrokes. I call them Quantum Worlds because in the process of exploring and choosing which ones to enlarge I realized that the process and the end result was not unlike what Quantum Physicists describe as the new paradigm of reality.

Quantum physicists tell us that the smallest building block of life is not a distinct particle located in space but is more like a probability of matter that can exist anywhere at any given time, and acts not like a particle but more like a thought.

Because of this probability/thought factor, physicists assert that it is possible to have multiple realities or worlds existing simultaneously within the same space, and that how the viewer thinks will affect the outcome of which probability s(he) sees.

In this Quantum World series I have chosen several very small details, that, when magnified, illuminate multiple realities (objects, landscapes etc) existing simultaneously within the same space. How the viewer is thinking at any given moment will impact what probability the viewer sees.
